Centre Launches Skills Drive To Tackle Nigeria’s Employability Crisis

The Centre for Visionary Leadership and Human Capital Development, has unveiled plans to tackle Nigeria’s employability and skills gap by equipping young people and professionals with practical skills for the changing labour market.

The Centre, registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission under registration number CRN 9800186, was formally launched by its Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Sir Patrick Ezechukwu, PhD.

Ezechukwu disclosed this in Abuja during Pres briefing, he said the Centre was established to develop human capital, improve employability and entrepreneurship, and prepare a new generation of Nigerians for meaningful participation in the economy.

He called on government agencies, development partners, private-sector organisations and other stakeholders to collaborate with the institution in expanding skills development and employment opportunities.

Ezechukwu said: “The Centre aims to raise a new generation of visionary leaders and build the human capital needed for sustainable growth, ethical governance and global impact. Its mission is ‘empowering Leaders, Developing People, Transforming Nations.

“The Centre will focus on education and training, youth empowerment, employability and entrepreneurship, ethical leadership and governance, community development, and social impact and sustainability.

“Core services include leadership development, capacity building, human capital consulting, and research and policy advocacy. Successful trainees will receive recognised certificates valued by employers and institutions in Nigeria and beyond.”

The founding Directorate comprises Faisal Sanusi Ibrahim, Director General; Lt. Col. G.A. Banire (Rtd), Director of Operations; Capt. Dr. Luqman Gigado (Rtd), Director of Research and Training; Zubaidah Khalid, Director of Communications and Information; Ahmed A. Ahmed, Secretary; and Barr. Mrs. Ifeyinwa Ezechukwu, Legal Adviser.

He said the Centre would seek to bridge the gap between education and the demands of the workplace by developing people with relevant skills, leadership capacity and entrepreneurial competence.

Ezechukwu added, “The Centre open for operations and invited the media, development partners, government agencies, the private sector and the public to collaborate in developing leaders and transforming lives.”
