The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says its maintenance crew is repairing a fault on the 33kV NIPP feeder at the Kubwa 132/33kV transmission substation in Abuja.
The company said in a statement on Tuesday that the feeder tripped at 9:39 a.m. on Sunday after an earth fault.
“The Electricity Distribution Company (AED) maintenance team patrolled the feeder and certified it okay for restoration,” the company said.
It said that during an attempt to restore the feeder at about 6:34 p.m., it tripped again on overcurrent and earth fault, shattering the blue phase interrupter head of the feeder circuit breaker.
“Consequently, AEDC has been unable to off-take bulk power for its customers in FO1, Dantata Estate, Byazhin, Byazhin Across, and Gbazango,” it noted.
The company said it regretted any inconvenience caused by the outage and assured that it would restore power as soon as repair work on the breaker is completed.
