President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the founder and presiding bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, David Oyedepo, on his 72nd birthday.
Mr Tinubu joined Mr Oyedepo’s family, the church, and Christian community in celebrating the cleric’s contributions to education, leadership development, and humanitarian service.
The president’s congratulatory message was contained in a statement issued by his Spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, on Sunday in Abuja.
Mr Tinubu acknowledged Mr Oyedepo’s influence on the moral and spiritual development of individuals and communities, especially his emphasis on discipline, responsibility and integrity.
He highlighted the cleric’s role in education and human-capital development through Covenant University and Landmark University.
Mr Tinubu said the institutions had promoted academic excellence, leadership development, entrepreneurship and innovation.
He also noted Mr Oyedepo’s activities in publishing and humanitarian service, saying his books and teachings had reached audiences in Nigeria and beyond during more than four decades of ministry.
“Bishop David Oyedepo has devoted decades to preaching faith, promoting integrity and encouraging excellence, while investing substantially in education and the development of human capacity.
“His commitment to building lives, institutions and communities has given his ministry a significant national and international footprint,” Mr Tinubu said.
The president also acknowledged social-development initiatives associated with the ministry, including schools, healthcare facilities and humanitarian interventions.
He commended the David Oyedepo Foundation for its support for education and people in need.
“On this auspicious occasion of his 72nd birthday, I celebrate his life of service and pray that Almighty God will continue to grant him wisdom, strength, good health and renewed grace,” Mr Tinubu said.
He wished Mr Oyedepo many more years of fulfilment and service to God and humanity.
