Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has declared Monday a work-free day for teachers in the state to commemorate the 2026 World Teachers’ Day.
In a statement on Friday, the governor’s deputy spokesperson, Mashood Agboola, said the work-free day was approved to commemorate the annual celebration.
He stated, “His Excellency extends his best wishes to teachers across the length and breadth of the state whose contributions to human capital development is acknowledged at all times. He thanks our teachers for their efforts and resilience.”
Mr Agboola said the governor reassured the teachers of his administration’s commitment to their welfare and that of residents of the state.
Mr AbdulRazaq also wished the teachers a more rewarding and prosperous service to humanity.
