The announcement was made in Lagos on Monday through a statement released by the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Babasayi Oluseyi, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police. The statement described Adebisi as an officer with strong academic background and professional exposure.
Adebisi studied English Language and Literature at Tai Solarin University of Education, where she earned a BA (Ed). She later obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution and also completed a Master of Arts in English Language at the National Open University of Nigeria.
She is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and belongs to several professional organizations abroad, including the International Public Relations Association, the International Association of Women Police, and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
Her previous duties in the police included serving as Staff Officer to the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations and working as Personal Assistant to the Commissioner of Police, Special Protection Unit. Before her current role, she worked at the Force Headquarters in Abuja as the Police Public Relations Liaison Officer for the Special Protection Unit.
Adebisi’s appointment follows the promotion of the former spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, who now serves as the Force Public Relations Officer. The Command has assured residents of her readiness to build on existing relations between the police and members of the public in Lagos State.
