Abuja-June 28. The National Assembly Service Commission (NASC), has appointed Mr Rawlings Emmanuel Agada as the substantive Clerk of the Senate in new postings made by the body.
Spear News reports that before his confirmation as substantive clerk, Agada had served in acting capacity.
He was also once the Deputy Clerk (Administration) at the Senate.
A letter dated June 27, 2025, and signed by the Executive Chairman of NASC, Chief Dr Saviour Enyiekere, conveyed the confirmation.
The letter noted that Agada’s new appointment took effect from June 26, 2025.
Summitpostnews learnt that Agada, a former Director of Information and Publications at the National Assembly, was among legislative officers who pioneered the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), a union that promotes and protects the interests of legislative workers across the country.
Agada was once the National President of PASAN, pioneering a number of staff welfare schemes, including a transport service.
Meanwhile, the NASC redeployed Mr Emmanuel Odo, formerly Deputy Clerk, Senate (Administration), to the House of Representatives as Deputy Clerk, Legislative.
Similarly, Mrs Vivian Njemanze, formerly the Deputy Clerk (Administration) in the House of Representatives, was reassigned as the Deputy Clerk, Legislative (Senate).
Another officer moved is Mr Andrew Nwoba, who is now to serve in the Office of the Clerk to the National Assembly. Andrew was formerly the Clerk of the Senate.
Information available to Spear News on Saturday further indicated that the NASC would announce more appointments in the ongoing repositioning of the bureaucratic structure of the National Assembly.
