Agric Forum Commends NAIC Boss ,Yazid Danfulani for Agency Reforms

The Association of the Agriculture Forum has praised the Managing Director of the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation, Mr Danfulani Yazid, for what it described as his “fresh energy” and transformative leadership.

The commendation was contained in a statement signed by the Forum’s spokesperson, Mr Idoko Ochie, and circulated to journalists in Abuja on Friday.

The Forum said President Bola Tinubu deserved credit for placing “capable hands in strategic positions,” particularly by appointing Mr Yazid to lead NAIC at a time the sector requires renewed confidence and stronger institutions.

“The President has put the right person in the right place,” the statement added, noting that Yazid’s early actions have shown “clarity of purpose, institutional discipline and visionary leadership.”

The Forum described Yazid as a reform-minded administrator whose approach is already inspiring optimism among farmers, agro-stakeholders and investors.

It expressed confidence that his competence and experience would drive a more innovative, technology-driven insurance system capable of protecting farmers and boosting trust across the agricultural value chain.

“With his tested leadership capacity, we expect a more digitally driven agricultural insurance model that guarantees protection for farmers,” Ochie said.

The Forum referred to Yazid as “the new sheriff in town,” insisting that he has arrived with a firm mandate to reposition NAIC for efficiency, credibility and sustainable growth.

It added that the MD has brought “assurance and compelling track records of performance,” especially in pushing bold reforms in institutions he previously headed.

In what it termed an emphatic endorsement, the group said Yazid was “the undertaker who refused to take the agency to the grave,” insisting that NAIC was experiencing a rebirth under his stewardship.

According to the statement, the agency is “coming back to life again” through renewed systems, expanded capacity and improved service delivery.

The Forum reaffirmed its commitment to supporting NAIC to ensure farmers nationwide enjoy reliable and technology-driven insurance services, especially as agriculture remains central to food security and economic diversification.

It urged stakeholders across the public and private sectors to support NAIC’s new direction, stressing that Yazid’s tenure offers a timely opportunity for sectoral stability and sustainable prosperity for farmers.
