Ahead 2027: “Allow Me To Focus On My Tight Schedules – LG Boss Beg Constituents

Chief Felix Idem

By Abasi Ita

As the searchlight continued to beam on Chief Felix Idem to consider running for House of Representatives ticket for Calabar Municipality Odukpani Federal Constituency at the next election, the Local Government Affairs boss has appealed to those behind the clarion call to remain calm and allow him to focus on his official engagement.

The Commissioner for Ministry of Local Government Affairs, Chief Felix Idem who has dissociated himself from growing speculations maintained that “he is too preoccupied with an official assignment to nurse political aspirations”

Chief Idem who was reacting to the recent report circulating on social media from a faceless group stressed that the explanation has become imperative to clear the air on the matter.

According to him; As the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, I am saddled with the huge task of repositioning local councils to provide a semblance of government in terms of visible infrastructure development, and security of lives and property, with a view of giving hope to our rural dwellers.

” My task which translates to ensuring that the season of sweetness is felt across the nooks and crannies of Cross River is enormous. Therefore, nursing or lobbying for a House of Representatives ticket is a huge distraction which can’t be tolerated”

He urged those behind the mask projecting him for the seat to redirect the energy towards supporting Governor Otu to enable him to deliver on his herculean task of repositioning the state from the brinks of deplorable infrastructures and sectoral decay prevalent in the state.

” I want to sincerely appreciate those who have found me worthy of the office of a federal lawmaker. However, I wish to ask for latitude to allow me to concentrate on my schedule as the Commissioner so we can lay a solid foundation for elected Council officials to build on when they come on board. Let’s channel the energy to support our governor, and promote unity and cohesion within the APC family in Calabar Municipality”

Recall that the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC during the last stakeholders meeting of the APC had vowed to ensure the Federal House of Representatives slot for Calabar Municipality Odukpani is zone to Calabar Municipality.

Apparently, in reaction to the statement, a faceless group known as Calabar Municipality Grassroot for a Better Tomorrow has projected Chief Felix Idem for the Plumb office.
