The Kogi State chapter of Social Democratic Party (SDP), has elected Ahmed Attah as it’s chairman, and he’s wasting no time in outlining his vision for the party and the state.

In his acceptance speech, Attah expressed gratitude to the National Chairman of the SDP, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam, and other party stakeholders for their trust and confidence in him.

“I want to express my deepest gratitude to the National Chairman of our great party, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam, our principal His Excellency Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka and all the party stakeholders for their trust and confidence in me and the executives of the State Working Committee,” he said.

Attah also thanked his fellow party members for their unwavering support and dedication, acknowledging that their hard work and perseverance have been instrumental in the party’s success.

“To my fellow party members, I thank you for your unwavering support and dedication. Your hard work and perseverance have been the driving force behind our party’s success,” he noted.

The newly elected chairman pledged to work tirelessly to promote the party’s ideals, foster unity and inclusivity among members, and champion causes that will bring prosperity and progress to Kogi State.

“I pledge to work tirelessly in line with our party’s constitution to promote its ideals to the best of my knowledge and capabilities, to foster unity and inclusivity among our members, and to champion the causes that will bring prosperity and progress to our beloved state,” he said.

Attah envisioned a brighter future for Kogi State, where every citizen has access to quality education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.

“As we embark on this new chapter, I envision a brighter future for Kogi State, a future where every citizen has access to quality education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. A future where our state is a beacon of hope and prosperity for all Nigerians,” he said.

The newly elected chairman also paid tribute to the memory of party members who were murdered during the run-up to the November 2023 gubernatorial elections in Kogi.

“Let us take a moment to remember and pay tribute to the memory of the souls of our party members that were murdered in the run up to the November 2023 gubernatorial elections in Kogi, their sacrifices would not be forgotten and will drive us to plan, strategise and liberate the good people of Kogi State from the rudderless and corrupt order,” he said.

He expressed his pride in leading the SDP in Kogi State and his commitment to working collaboratively with party members to achieve greatness for the state.

“Let us march forward together, with hope in our hearts and the conviction that a brighter future is within our grasp and replicate the winning streak of the SDP of the old.

“Thank you once again for this tremendous honor. I am proud to lead our party in Kogi State at this critical point in our history and I look forward to working collaboratively with each and everyone of you to achieve greatness for our state,” Attah concluded.

Meanwhile, Attah’s emergence has elicited joy amongst party members. Similarly, the social media has also been agog, immediately the news of Attah’s election filtered into town.

In retrospect, Ahmed Attah is a not a baby politician, as he has risen to the position of Kogi East Zonal Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) before resigning from the exalted office in 2023, citing insubordination, ineptitude, lack of vision by the APC led government in the State.
