Ajaka Donates N10 Million to Church, Mosque Projects in Kogi
A prominent businessman and politician, Hon. Murtala Yakubu Ajaka has donated ₦10 million to support ongoing projects in St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Central Mosque in Ejinya-Ugbonobi, Ankpa Local Government, Kogi State.
A statement scooped from Omera Opaluwa’s Facebook page by Summit Post, explained that the donation, split evenly between the two institutions, aims to promote interfaith harmony and development in the community.
Hon. Ajaka, who contested in the November 2023 Kogi governorship election as the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate, made the donation during the burial Mass of Mr. Francis Yunusa Ocheni, the father of his close friend.
He was accompanied by a high-profile entourage, including Hon. Isa Musa Atodo, who donated ₦1 million, and Hon. Prince Gowon Enenche, who also made a financial contribution.
The church community expressed gratitude for the generous donations and offered prayers for Hon. Ajaka and his entourage. The priest, while thanking Hon. Ajaka, praised his commitment to the development of the community and his efforts to promote interfaith harmony.
The Central Mosque also benefited from Hon. Ajaka’s generosity, receiving ₦5 million to support its ongoing projects. The Imam of the mosque, while thanking Hon. Ajaka, praised his efforts to promote unity and understanding between different faith communities.
