The National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Hon. Aminu Mu’azu Maitafa, has paid a courtesy call to the Honourable Minister of Health, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, at the Federal Ministry of Health in Abuja on Tuesday.
Statement made available to newsmen by Special Adviser to ALGON Chairman on Special Duties, Tijjani Muhammed, explains that the meeting discussed critical national issues bordering on Primary Healthcare challenges at the grassroots, amongst other health matters.
Hon. Maitafa emphasised the need for effective collaboration between ALGON and the Federal Ministry of Health to address the healthcare challenges faced by Nigerians at the grassroots level.
Responding, Prof. Pate thanked the ALGON delegation and pledged the readiness of his Ministry to collaborate with ALGON to achieve the desired goals. “We are committed to providing quality healthcare services at the grassroots for effective and efficient coverage of Nigerians,” Prof. Pate said.
The meeting was attended by top officials, including the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Ms. Daju Kachollom, and other dignitaries from ALGON and the Ministry of Health.
With this collaboration, Nigerians can expect improved healthcare services at the grassroots level, a move that aligns with the government’s efforts to strengthen the country’s healthcare system.
