Security operations by the Nigerian Army in Edo State have led to the arrest of 13 suspected criminals, including alleged kidnappers and drug traffickers.
The suspects were apprehended during coordinated raids carried out by troops of the 4 Brigade across identified flashpoints in the state. The operation forms part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks and improve safety along major roads and rural communities.
Military sources said the arrests followed credible intelligence reports on the movement and activities of criminal groups operating within forested areas and nearby settlements. Items believed to be linked to criminal activities were also recovered during the operation.
The Army reaffirmed its commitment to working with other security agencies and local communities to rid Edo State of kidnapping, drug-related crimes, and other threats to public peace.
Residents have been urged to continue providing timely information to security forces, as the suspects are expected to be handed over to relevant authorities for further investigation and prosecution.
