Muhammed Suleiman, a banker with Union Bank PLC, lost his life just three weeks after being promoted to the position of Regional Manager. He was killed on August 4 while traveling from Kaduna to Katsina for official duties. The exact details of his death remain uncertain.
His colleagues, under the Federal Government College Kaduna Old Students Association (FEGOKOSA), are calling for a proper investigation into the killing. During a press briefing held in Lagos on Friday, the association’s leaders urged the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to order a thorough probe into the case.
The group noted that Suleiman’s death should not be dismissed as just another attack by bandits, insisting that security agencies must dig deeper to uncover what truly happened. They also stressed that insecurity has become a major concern across the country and must not be accepted as a normal way of life.
They further called on the police to keep Suleiman’s family, friends, and colleagues informed on the progress of the investigation. The association appealed to the federal government, security operatives, and the general public to work collectively towards restoring safety, stating that development and national progress cannot thrive in an unsafe environment.
