Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has paid a fitting tribute to the late Brigadier General Abu Ali Mopa III (Rtd), former Military Governor of Bauchi State and Etsu Bassa Nge/Nupe, by naming the road from Awala Roundabout to the Airport after him.
The Abu Ali family expressed profound gratitude for the honour, acknowledging the gesture as a touching tribute to the late leader’s service, leadership, and dedication to the state.
“The decision preserves his memory with dignity and reinforces the bond he always cherished with the people of Bauchi State,” the family said.
Governor Mohammed praised the late general’s character, saying, “Late General Abu Ali was known for his humility, integrity, and dedication. His life was a model of service to his soldiers, to the people of Bauchi, and to his cultural community.”
The late General Abu Ali served as Bauchi State’s Military Administrator from September 1990 to January 1992 and was instrumental in commissioning the Bauchi Township Water Project, supporting the Tomato Processing Company, and founding the Wikki Tourists Football Club.
The family and the people of Bauchi State remember him fondly, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
