Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Elvert Ayamben has been impeached.
The impeachment followed a motion moved by the member of Calabar South 2, Hon. Effiong Ekarika accusing Ayambem of adminstrative incompetency and high handedness.
The motion was supported by member for Bekwara, Charles Omang who submitted that the speaker lacks the capacity to continue as leader of the House given his pedigree
