BREAKING: Former YPP Governorship Candidate Dr. Sam Omale Decamps to NNPP

The former governorship candodate of Young Peoples Party (YPP) in Kogi state, Dr. Sam Omale, has defected to the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP). The defection ceremony took place in London, where Dr. Omale was welcomed into the party by NNPP’s Vice Presidential Candidate, Bishop Isaac Idahosa.

Bishop Idahosa described Dr. Omale as a “very prolific and serious-minded person” who would bring his wealth of experience and knowledge to uplift the party.

“We have been able to catch a great fish today here in London, Dr. Sam, welcome to the Kwankwasiya family,” Bishop Idahosa said, as he baptized Dr. Omale into the Kwankwasiya Movement. Dr. Omale expressed his excitement to join the NNPP, describing it as an honor and privilege to be part of the “unstoppable train.” He praised the party’s feat in Kano state during the 2023 general elections, saying it was a step to build upon ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“The feat performed by His Excellency, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso in Kano is still reverberating across the country. I’m glad to join forces with you to rescue Nigeria from the current economic challenges,” Dr. Omale said. He promised to contribute to building the diaspora Kwankwasiya movement, focusing on deliberate policies and programs to pull millions of Nigerians out of poverty. Dr. Omale also announced plans to invite Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to address the party’s followers in London.

Dr. Omale’s defection to the NNPP is seen as a major gain for the party, with his experience and knowledge expected to bolster the party’s chances in future elections. During his governorship campaign in 2023, Dr. Omale had urged Kogi electorates to look beyond the old fabrics of money-bags parading themselves as leaders, emphasizing the need for a leader who could turn the fortune of the state around.
