As preparation for the October 19, 2024 Kogi council polls reaches the homestretch, leaders and stakeholders of Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Dekina local government, yesterday, resolved that the SDP Chairmanship ticket of the party be zoned to Dekina political district.
The party leaders and Dekina SDP elders forum who met with all the 18 Chairmanship aspirants of the party in a critical stakehoders meeting was said to have supported the decision of the party to back a Dekina political district’s Chairmanship aspirant.
Though the decision and the position of the party does not go down well with some aspirants from Biraidu and Okura district.
Further stakehoders consultation with Aspirants of Dekina political district with the party leaders to build a consensus and come up with formidable candidate continues today 11/8/2024.
For the benefit of hindsight, Dekina political district comprises of five (5) electoral wards with 10 aspirants.
