The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced its plans for the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise for the 2025 elections, providing eligible Nigerians with new opportunities to register.
This announcement was made via a message on INEC’s website on Sunday.
The registration will take place in two phases. The first phase involves online pre-registration, which begins on August 18, 2025, through INEC’s official portal: www.cvr.inecnigeria.org. Voters can initially register digitally before completing the process in person.
In-person registration will commence on August 25, 2025, at all INEC Local Government Area (LGA) offices and designated centres across the country. This physical registration will be available from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.
The 2025 CVR initiative is anticipated to enhance voter participation in the upcoming general elections. INEC encourages applicants to utilise its official channels for the latest updates on registration requirements and guidelines.
