Christians have been urged to seek the power of resurrection rather than relying on artificial means. Rev. Rimande Musa Andemun, Guest Speaker at the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) combined Easter Service in Jalingo, emphasized that many people seek power through various means, including sacrifices and consulting native doctors.
“The power of resurrection is what gives hope to the hopeless,” Rev. Andemun said, citing Luke 24:1-7, Mark 16:3-4, Acts 2:24, 3:15, and Romans 8:11. He warned Christians against spending money on artificial power and instead encouraged them to focus on the power from above, which is free.
“If the resurrection power is in you, you don’t need to fear,” Rev. Andemun said. “Don’t be afraid to die, many are afraid to die because the power of resurrection is not in them.”
The cleric suggested ways for believers to access the power of resurrection, including surrendering their lives to Christ and asking for the power of resurrection. “Pastors must help their members, but before they help them, they must help themselves first,” he added.
Rev. Andemun lamented that some Christians prioritize seeking power from questionable sources over supporting their churches. “There are some people going from one shrine to another for power, but give little to the Church,” he observed.
He emphasized the importance of the power of resurrection, saying, “It is the power that wakens the mortal body. You need the power.”
