The Nasarawa State Coordinator of Coalition of Good Governance and Change Initiative (CGGCI), Comrade Abdul Usman Shuaibu, has vowed that the group will closely monitor the disbursement and utilization of the N3 billion flood relief funds allocated by the Federal Government.
“The recent floods in Nasarawa State have caused unprecedented damage, displacing thousands of residents and destroying homes and infrastructure. It is crucial that the relief funds are used effectively and efficiently to address the needs of those affected,” said Comrade Abdul Usman Shuaibu, State Coordinator of CGGCI.

CGGCI has advised the Nasarawa State government to ensure transparency and accountability in the management of the flood relief funds. “We urge the government to publicly disclose the allocation of funds, detailing how much is being spent, on what, and by whom. This transparency will help build public trust and ensure that funds are used for their intended purposes,” Shuaibu emphasized.
The organization has also called for the establishment of a monitoring and evaluation framework to track the progress of relief activities and assess their effectiveness. “We recommend that the state government supports independent audits of flood relief funds to further enhance accountability,” Shuaibu added.
CGGCI has pledged to work collaboratively with the government, local authorities, and affected communities to ensure that relief efforts are efficient, effective, and focused on the needs of the most vulnerable.
“We stand ready to play our part in monitoring these efforts, but it is equally important for the state government to take proactive steps to ensure that these funds are used wisely and for the benefit of all affected residents,” Shuaibu concluded.
