Christian Community Gather for Thanksgiving Service in Honor of Chief Dr. David Sabo Kente and Senator David Jimkuta
A combined Thanksgiving service was held at the Christian Reform Church of Christ in Nations (CRC-N), Kinkiso, Wukari, to honor Chief Dr. David Sabo Kente and Senator David Jimkuta. The service, which was attended by numerous dignitaries, featured a sermon by the President of CRC-N, Rev. Isiah Magaji Jirapiye.
“Thanksgiving is an act of appreciating God or saying to the community thank you,” Rev. Jirapiye stated. “It is an act of appreciating somebody or community for what he or them has done to you.”
He emphasized that sincere thanksgiving starts from the heart, adding that the lives people have are worth everything. “When you acknowledge what you have, it leads to thanksgiving,” he said.
Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, commended Senator Jimkuta for the positive impact he is making in his role as a legislator. He also praised Chief David Kente for his unwavering commitment to serving humanity.
“Reaching the age of 60 is not only a milestone but also an opportunity for reflection,” Governor Kefas said. “I encourage Chief Kente to continue making significant contributions to the lives of others and to prioritize mentorship for the younger generation.”
During his address, Governor Kefas announced plans to establish a general hospital in Wukari and urged Chief Kente to consider donating land for this important project, which would be named in his honor.
Senator Jimkuta, in his message of thanksgiving, credited God for his political success amidst various challenges, stating that he has witnessed God’s hand in his life.
Chief David Sabo Kente expressed heartfelt appreciation to Governor Kefas for attending the service despite his busy schedule. He also highlighted his charitable activities, which included securing the release of 15 prisoners and visiting the Federal University Teaching Hospital Wukari and local orphanages to share love and support with those in need.
Goodwill messages were shared by esteemed dignitaries, including the Chairman of the Council of Chiefs and Emirs, the Aku Uka, His Royal Majesty Dr. Ishaku Adda Ali, and His Royal Highness Amb Sanvala Verzoa Shimbura, the Gara Donga.
The service concluded with special prayers for Senator Jimkuta and Chief Kente, invoking divine blessings, strength, and courage for the years ahead.
