The Concerned Christian Youth Forum has condemned Apostle Festus Alilu’s verbal attack on Pastor Korede Komaiya, describing it as “unprovoked and unwarranted.”
The convener of the forum, James Paul Adama, has aologised to Pastor Komaiya on behalf of the Christian community, stating, “We consider this attack unprovoked and unwarranted, and we consequently wish to extend our sincere apologies to Pastor Komaiya on behalf of our community.”
Apostle Alilu had posted a video on social media criticizing Pastor Komaiya’s prosperity teachings, accusing him of misleading church members with false promises of wealth.
However, the Concerned Christian Youth Forum discovered that Pastor Komaiya did not initiate the arrest, but rather some of his followers did.
According to the forum, the arrest highlights the importance of verifying facts before making accusations. “This highlights the importance of considering and verifying facts before drawing conclusions or making accusations,” said Converner. The Concerned Christian Youth Forum is now intervening in the matter, seeking an amicable resolution.
The forum’s convener warned that attacks on the Christian faith and its leaders will no longer be tolerated, saying, “We are ready to take all necessary steps to vigorously defend Christianity and its leaders in Nigeria.” He encouraged everyone to respect the Christian faith and avoid making derogatory comments or attacks on any religion.
Converner emphasized that the Christian community will no longer standby while its leaders are attacked and maligned. “We will not fold our arms and watch our leaders being maligned and attacked. We will defend our faith and our leaders with every means necessary,” he said.
