Israeli attacks across Gaza have resulted in the deaths of more than 90 people in the last 24 hours, including several civilians who were seeking shelter and aid.
Gaza’s health authorities say the ongoing air raids continue to target areas where displaced families have gathered, worsening the humanitarian crisis in the region.
One of the most severe incidents occurred at the Holy Family Church in central Gaza, the territory’s only Catholic church.
The compound, which had been housing many displaced residents, was hit by an Israeli shell, killing three people and injuring ten others.
Among the wounded was a local priest. Israeli officials stated the strike was unintended and said a review is underway.
In Syria, a separate development has drawn attention. Government troops have started withdrawing from Suwayda, a region largely inhabited by the Druze minority.
This move follows a local ceasefire deal aimed at ending internal tensions. However, not long after, Israeli airstrikes struck sites in the capital, Damascus, including near the Defence Ministry.
Syrian media reported three deaths and several injuries from the attack.
The Syrian government has accused Israel of interfering and attempting to destabilize its internal affairs, particularly in the south where unrest has grown in recent weeks.
According to Gaza’s health ministry, the total number of Palestinians killed since the conflict began has reached at least 58,667, with nearly 140,000 wounded.
In Israel, more than 1,100 people were killed during the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, 2023. Over 200 people were also taken captive during that assault.
