The Indigenous Calabar Ministers Forum of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria has commended the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission Mr Darlington Bassey Eyo for his visionary and transformative leadership, which they described as impactful and uplifting to public service.
The delegation led by the Moderator of the Calabar Synod of the Presbyterian Church Most Rev Daniel Eyo Etim visited the Commission in Calabar where they delivered the goodwill message of the Prelate of the Church Dr Ekpenyong Akpanika to the Chairman and members of the Commission. The Forum also praised Governor Bassey Edet Otu for appointing individuals with proven integrity to key positions in government.
Speaking during the visit the clerics lauded Mr Eyo for upholding high moral and spiritual standards in service delivery. They further offered suggestions they believe would enhance productivity and strengthen ethical values across the public sector.
Responding Mr Eyo expressed gratitude for the recognition and described the visit as divine and uplifting. He stressed that notable achievements are possible only through God’s grace and emphasised the relevance of spirituality in leadership and governance.
He explained that he does not consider himself the most qualified to occupy the position but attributed his emergence to divine favour which he said continues to guide his service to the state.
The LGSC Chairman thanked the ministers for their prayers and support and commended the Church for its unrelenting role in promoting moral values and societal development.
The visit featured a prayer and worship session and the presentation of a Holy Bible to the Chairman as a symbol of blessing and spiritual endorsement of his leadership.
