Indigenes of Taraba State have been urged to take the opportunity of free education at both Primary, Secondary and reduction in tuition fee at Tertiary institutions by Governor Agbu Kefas.
The Leader of the Southern Conference of the United Methodist Church UMC, Rev. Dr. Philip Micah Dopah stated this during the official opening of the 2024 annual Gospel Singers Convention at the Southern Conference Campground in Marraba Appawa, Lau Local Government, Taraba State.
“Governor Agbu as a blessing to Taraba State, all what he needed is our continued prayers and support to enable him to complete his good works to Tarabans.
“I urge us to maintain the peaceful coexistence amongst Christians and the Society.
“I also encourage all members to preach and live in peace.
The leader who was accompanied by top church officials challenged Gospel Singers to live righteously, warning against lifestyles contrary to Biblical teachings.
Earlier, the Conference Chairman, Evang. Daniel Bolki Simon i welcomed members, thanking them for their impressive turnout despite economic challenges.
He urged Gospel Singers to engage in farming, business, and financial self-reliance activities.
Evang. Bolki expressed unwavering support for the Church and its policies, emphasizing commitment to sustainability and development programs.
“The Gospel Singers recorded significant progress during the year under review.
The guest speaker Rev. Zaro Clarkson Kwah stressed the need for members to engage in business ventures, avoid idleness, and eschew extravagant spending in his Paper tittle: Sustainability.
The occasion featured the dedication of a video and audio CD, “Bazamuyi luwadi ba,” by Markus J. Sori.
The event underscored the conference’s focus on education, sustainability, and spiritual growth, inspiring attendees to embrace these values and make a positive impact in their communities.
