CNN Poll of Polls: Harris at 50 percent to Trump’s 47percent
Vice President Kamala Harris is currently leading former President Donald Trump in the presidential race, with 50 percent support to Trump’s 47 percent, according to the latest CNN Poll of Polls.
This slight edge for Harris falls within the typical margin of sampling error for a national poll ¹.
While there’s no clear leader in the current average, the results indicated a slight shift in Harris’ favor compared to the previous Poll of Polls before the ABC News debate. Back then, the numbers stood at 49 percent for Harris and 48 percent for Trump.
The new average takes into account five polls conducted after the September 10 debate, with three polls showing Harris ahead outside the margin of error and two within it.
Notably, a recent NBC News poll found Harris at 49 percent support to Trump’s 44 percent marking the lowest level of support for Trump in any poll meeting CNN’s standards since Harris joined the race in late July.
In key battleground states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, Harris is also holding her own. A Quinnipiac University poll shows Harris leading Trump 51percent to 45percent in Pennsylvania, 50 percent to 45percent in Michigan, and virtually tied in Wisconsin at 48 percent to 47percent.
Swing State Breakdown:
Pennsylvania:_ Harris 51percent, Trump 45percent
Michigan: Harris 50 percent Trump 45 percent
Wisconsin: Harris 48 percent, Trump 47percent
Quinnipiac University Polling Analyst Tim Malloy noted that, “Three crucial swing states wave a red flag at the Trump campaign. The GOP’s most ‘go to’ attack strategies against Democrats on immigration and the economy may be losing momentum.”
