The Commonwealth of Zion Assembly’s Global Senior Pastor, Rev. Biodun Fatoyinbo, has responded to a press release by the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) regarding comments attributed to him about the family of the late Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola.
Fatoyinbo expressed gratitude to the CAC for addressing the issue in a Christian manner, acknowledging the significant impact of Apostle Babalola’s ministry and legacy.
He stated that many churches, including his own, have been influenced by Babalola’s work, and he counts himself as a beneficiary of the Apostle’s legacy.
“I appreciate the fact that a church I personally love, admire and respect would be so kind and magnanimous enough to address the issues which have been misconstrued in an exemplary Christian manner,” Fatoyinbo said.
He emphasised that his church, the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), is known worldwide as a place of honour, and he would never take lightly the grace over Apostle Babalola, his children, or his ministry.
Fatoyinbo clarified that his comments were not intended to disrespect the family of the late Apostle Babalola. He stated that the raw copy of his sermon is available online and can be verified, and he apologized if his words caused any distress.
“Let me state however that at no time in the sermon did I refer to the children of the late Apostle and Father of faith in bad light. I would never do that,” he emphasised.
He also praised the children of Apostle Babalola, describing them as shining examples of generational impact and good examples for children of visionaries to follow.
Fatoyinbo concluded by expressing his respect for the CAC and the legacy of Apostle Babalola, praying that the church continues to grow in leaps and bounds.
