The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State has rejected a list circulating ahead of its State Congress today, March 3, 2026, insisting that the document is fraudulent and not issued by the party.
In a press statement released on Tuesday, the party stressed that the purported list is unauthorised and should be completely disregarded by members and the public.
The State Congress is scheduled to hold today at the U J Esuene Stadium, Calabar, where party delegates and stakeholders are expected to gather for the official proceedings.
State Publicity Secretary, Hon. Emmanuel Edem Inyang, JP, described the list as “entirely false and misleading,” suggesting its circulation was a deliberate effort to create confusion and disrupt party cohesion.
“The Party wishes to categorically state that the said list is entirely false and misleading. It did not emanate from the Party and should be regarded as a deliberate attempt to cause confusion and undermine the integrity and unity of our great Party,” the statement read.
The APC called on members, stakeholders, and the public to rely solely on official communications from the recognised party leadership, warning against giving attention to any unauthorised publications.
Reaffirming its commitment to internal democracy and adherence to due process, the party assured that today’s State Congress would be conducted transparently, orderly, and in full compliance with party guidelines, reinforcing its dedication to unity and fairness.
