Lead counsel to American singer Sean Diddy, Anthony Ricco, has stepped down ahead of his sex trafficking trial.
Diddy, who is currently entangled in over 30 civil lawsuits, is set to face a federal criminal trial on sex trafficking and racketeering charges on May 5, 2025.
Anthony, announced his withdrawal in the motion filed before the New York Federal Court on Thursday, refusing to give reasons why he decided to leave the rapper’s legal team.
According to the legal document, he notified the judge of his decision to withdraw from Daddy’s legal team, stating that “there are sufficient reasons protected by lawyer/client privilege”.
Ricco in the relief motion which has to be approved by the judge, said, “Under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs.”
Anthony Ricco is known for his role in the bin Laden case.
