A 44-year-old man from Ban Chang District in Rayong Province, Thailand, has been found dead inside his bedroom, surrounded by more than 100 empty beer bottles.
The man, who had recently gone through a divorce, is believed to have consumed only beer for several weeks, refusing all food offered to him.
According to local reports, the man had been living alone with his teenage son after the separation.
Despite his son’s efforts to provide proper meals every day, the man chose to rely entirely on alcohol.
Witnesses say the floor of his bedroom was covered with rows of empty beer bottles, forming a path that led to the bed where his body was found.
The teenager returned home from school and discovered his father unconscious and shaking.
Emergency responders were called to the scene, but their efforts to save him failed. The man was declared dead shortly after they arrived.
Officials stated that the man showed clear signs of alcohol abuse. He had reportedly refused food for weeks and relied only on beer to sustain himself.
Authorities suspect long-term alcohol intake combined with lack of nutrition played a major role in his sudden death.
His body has been sent for autopsy to determine the exact cause.
Neighbors described him as someone who became withdrawn after the breakup. There were no signs of foul play, and no one else was injured.
This sad event has drawn attention to the growing problem of alcohol dependency and emotional struggles following relationship breakdowns.
It also points to how addiction can affect both individuals and families, especially when support is limited.
