” I want to call on all of us before I concluded this remark, that Muslims and Christians, we are brothers and sisters and we are to be sitting down together to discuss our challenges we are facing not allowing somebody , somewhere to tell us the problems confronting us.
“We known where our problems are coming from, just like a popular saying that he who wears the shoe ,knows where it itches. We known where our problems is coming from, we must understand ourselves.
“We cannot solved these problems unless we sit down together . That is why we are having this summit today to talk to ourselves “.
“Both Muslims and Christians have been working together even at the level of traditional rulers Council. Don’t allow those who will cause problem for us, divide our country. We have in our respective communities across the country, Muslims and Christians and you cannot differential among their families who is a Muslim or who is a Christian.
“So, let us work together to ensure there is peace, because without peace, there cannot be progress and tranquility”.
Sultan of Sokoto and Chairman, Nigeria Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Muhammad Saad Abubakar III
