Erika Kirk, widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, has spoken publicly for the first time since her husband was killed during a university event in Utah.
In an emotional livestream from Turning Point USA’s Arizona headquarters, she thanked first responders, staff, and White House officials for their support, pledging to carry forward her husband’s mission.
The broadcast began with several minutes of silence focused on Charlie Kirk’s empty podcast chair. Fighting back tears, Erika said her husband’s love for his family, his staff, and for President Donald Trump and Vice-President JD Vance was unwavering.
She also described his devotion to their two young children, aged one and three.
Mrs. Kirk, 36, declared that her husband’s voice would not be silenced. She warned those responsible for violence that his work would now inspire an even greater movement, promising that his tours of university campuses and his podcast would continue.
The widow also reflected on the challenge of explaining the tragedy to her children, telling her daughter that their father was “on a work trip with Jesus.”
Erika and the children were reportedly in the audience when the shooting occurred.
Charlie Kirk, 30, was shot dead on Wednesday while addressing students at Utah Valley University.
Suspect Tyler Robinson, 22, surrendered to police the following night and faces charges including aggravated murder.
Erika, a businesswoman, former Miss Arizona USA, and host of a faith-based podcast, has been married to Kirk since 2021.
She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Bible Studies and runs a ministry and clothing line rooted in Christian values.
