Former House of Representatives member, Bimbo Daramola, has launched a monthly fitness initiative called “BAO Walk” aimed at promoting healthy living among residents of Ekiti State.
Speaking in Ado Ekiti during the unveiling ceremony, Daramola emphasized the benefits of walking in addressing various health challenges. He cited medical evidence supporting walking as a natural way for the body to self-correct and maintain wellness.
“Medical science has established that with the adoption of walking, our bodies have the ability to auto-correct some major and debilitating health challenges,” he said.
The BAO Walk will take place across all 16 local government areas of the state, covering distances of 6 to 15 kilometers. Each session will also include health and wellness talks, with provisions for water, basic analgesics, and multivitamins for participants in need.
Daramola highlighted the importance of lifestyle modification for good health, noting, “The once-a-month BAO Walk is a symbolic activity aimed at extending the frontiers of care and concern for the well-being and wellness of Ekiti people.”
The initiative underscores a growing focus on preventative health measures and community-driven wellness programs in Ekiti State.
