The Muri/Sam Campaign Council of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has debunked claims that their candidate, Alhaji Murtala Ajaka, has withdrawn his election petition challenging the victory of Usman Ahmed Ododo in the Kogi State gubernatorial election.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, the campaign council described the rumors as “fake news” and “hallucinogenic depression of thoughts” spread by “an expired Honorable popularly known as Soul Lover.”
The statement, signed by Director of New Media Isaiah Davies Ijele, strongly condemned the misinformation, calling it a desperate attempt by “failed politicians who could not prove their capacities and love for humanity when in power.”
The campaign council reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing the case at the tribunal, stating that their team of solicitors is “upto their game and only waiting for the commencement of the court sitting.” They urged supporters to disregard the rumors and remain calm.
