Cindy Rodriguez Singh, 40, has been arrested in India by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in coordination with Indian authorities and INTERPOL officials confirmed on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
Singh had been on the FBI’s “10 Most Wanted Fugitives” list after allegedly killing her six-year-old son and fleeing the United States to evade prosecution.
The FBI said Singh was wanted on state charges related to the death of her son.
Director Kash Patel confirmed the arrest in a social media post, noting that it was the result of extensive coordination with law enforcement agencies across international borders.
Authorities worked closely with Indian officials to locate and detain Singh after she had reportedly been living in India to avoid capture.
Singh’s arrest marks a significant success for the FBI, demonstrating the agency’s ongoing commitment to tracking down fugitives who attempt to exploit international boundaries to evade justice.
She is expected to be extradited to the United States to face trial on charges connected to her son’s death.
The case has drawn widespread attention due to the severity of the allegations and the involvement of multiple international law enforcement agencies.
INTERPOL’s collaboration in the operation highlights the growing role of global cooperation in addressing cross-border criminal cases.
The FBI has not yet released details about Singh’s current location in India or the circumstances leading to her capture, citing ongoing operational security.
The agency has reiterated that fugitives cannot escape justice by crossing borders and that it will continue to pursue individuals who commit serious crimes.
