The Kwara State Government, under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has prohibited street trading, parking, and waiting around the Challenge-A’ Division Flyover Bridge in Ilorin.
This directive, aimed at improving traffic flow and enhancing safety, was announced by the Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA) on Wednesday.
Engr. Bamidele Michael, the Executive Officer of KWARTMA, confirmed that the government has approved the installation of warning signs such as “No Parking,” “No Waiting,” and “No Trading” at key points near the bridge.
These measures are expected to ensure smooth vehicular movement and safeguard pedestrians in the busy area.
He appealed to residents and commuters to comply with the new regulations, warning that violators would face strict penalties.
“We urge all road users and traders to adhere to this directive for the greater good of the community,” Engr. Michael stated.
