Fix PDP, Fix Nigeria Group Calls for Suspension of Minority Leader Kingsley Chinda

The Fix PDP, Fix Nigeria Group has demanded the immediate suspension of Hon. Kingsley Chinda, Minority Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caucus in the House of Representatives, over what it described as a deliberate attempt to mislead the public on party matters.

In a statement signed by Moses Odibo, spokesperson of the Delta State chapter of the group, Chinda was accused of misinforming Nigerians regarding the outcome of the PDP zoning committee meeting held in Lagos on Tuesday.

According to the group, the Lagos meeting was strictly a gathering of the zoning committee and not one involving members of the National Working Committee (NWC) or the National Assembly caucus as was erroneously suggested by the lawmaker.

“This type of misleading statement puts the PDP in a bad light at a time when we are working tirelessly to reposition the party ahead of the 2027 general elections,” the statement read.

Mr. Odibo further called on the South-South chapter of the party to suspend Chinda indefinitely, insisting that the lawmaker’s conduct was unbecoming of a leader at such a critical time. He clarified that the zoning meeting was convened exclusively for zoning committee members from southern Nigeria—namely the South-East, South-South, and South-West zones—and not for caucuses or other party organs.

The group called on the PDP caucus in the National Assembly to take swift action before next week’s crucial National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, stressing that Chinda’s actions were tantamount to bringing the party into disrepute.

“As we plan to revive the PDP towards 2027, all elements working at cross purposes with the agenda to unite and rebuild the party should be shown the way out. All hands must be on deck to restore the party’s credibility and ensure victory in the coming elections,” Odibo stated.

The Fix PDP, Fix Nigeria Group further urged stakeholders at all levels to resist acts of sabotage and maintain focus on the collective goal of returning the PDP to power.
