A former Ondo State Commissioner for Agriculture, Tunde Adeola, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing unresolved internal crises within his former party.
Summitpostnews gathered that Adeola, who resigned from his position in December 2024, announced his defection during a courtesy visit to the Ondo APC Chairman, Adewale Adebayo, on Friday evening.
The former commissioner revealed that his decision was driven by his desire to align with a party that prioritises development and unity.
Speaking at the event, Adeola stated, “The PDP has lost its focus, and I can no longer stay in a party that lacks direction. The APC offers a platform for genuine progress and inclusivity, and I am ready to contribute my quota to ensure the success of the party.”
Reacting to the defection, Adebayo welcomed Adeola, describing him as a seasoned politician and a valuable asset to the APC. He assured the former commissioner of the party’s commitment to fostering development across Ondo State while urging other aggrieved PDP members to follow suit.
