From Kogi to Nollywood Stardom: Ajanigo Inikpi’s Journey to Success

Ajanigo Inikpi’s rise to fame in the Nollywood industry bears eloquent testimony to her determination and talent. Hailing from Kogi, a state not typically known for producing mainstream Nollywood movies, Inikpi has defied the odds to establish herself as a notable actress. Her journey showcases her doggedness in pursuing her passion for acting, despite the challenges that come with being from a non-mainstream movie-producing state.

Inikpi’s performances in various movies have earned her recognition, and she continues to inspire aspiring actors from similar backgrounds. She has featured in several Nollywood movies, including “Love’s Lies” (2023), where she played Cara, a single parent who falls in love with Lucas, played by Kachi Nnochiri. Other notable films include “A Tale of Two Daughters” (2024), alongside Naza Eze, Mercy Kenneth, and Uchechi Treasure, “Life With The Nwigwe’s” (2024), a full Nollywood movie, “At A Price” (2024), a movie where she plays a pastor’s wife facing domestic abuse, and “My Co-Wife Pt2”, alongside Patience Ozokwor, Emmanuel Anyalogu, and Jeffrey Achu.

One of Inikpi’s most notable projects is her collaboration with Thompson Makolo Jnr on the Igala history-inspired film “Ohioma”. This project highlights the rich cultural heritage of the Igala Kingdom and marks a significant milestone in promoting Igala culture and history through film. As illustrious son and daughter of the great Igala Kingdom, Inikpi and Makolo Jnr’s collaboration on “Ohioma” emphasises their commitment to showcasing their cultural roots.
