Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has congratulated former Senator John Azuta Mbata, who represented Rivers East, on his emergence as the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.
In a statement issued on Friday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Nelson Chukwudi, Fubara described Mbata’s victory during the election held in Enugu as a reflection of his widespread acceptance and exemplary character.
The Governor noted that the overwhelming support Mbata received from the delegates underscores their confidence in his ability to lead Ohanaeze Ndigbo effectively during this critical period.
Fubara extended his best wishes to the newly elected leader, expressing optimism that Mbata’s tenure would promote national cohesion and foster mutual trust and cooperation both within the Igbo community and with non-Igbo groups.
“On behalf of the government and the good people of Rivers State, I once again congratulate you and assure you of our readiness to work with you in maintaining and preserving national unity and harmony,” Fubara said.
The Governor emphasized the importance of Mbata’s leadership in advancing the goals of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and strengthening the unity of Nigeria.
