Gololo Congratulates Ondo State Gov. Aiyedatiwa, Commends Him Over Cabinet Reshuffle

Dr. Garius Gololo, a Chieftain of the All Progress Congress (APC), has congratulated Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa on his emergence as the Governor of Ondo State.

Gololo who made this known to newsmen in Abuja on Thursday said the Governor and his Deputy are good products capable of piloting the affairs of the state and providing the dividends of democracy to the people.

Recall that Governor Aiyedatiwa on assumption of office dissolved the State Executive Council, and ordered all members of the cabinet to immediately hand over to the permanent secretaries or the most senior administrative officers in their respective offices.

The development did not go down well with some people in certain quarters, who criticized the Governor’s action.

On the contrary, Gololo has lauded the Governor for reshuffling his cabinet describing it as a necessary step for every Chief Executive. He urged the Governor to ignore critics criticizing the change of his cabinet and continue with the work of governance.

He said, “Being a member of the APC, I have known the Governor and his Deputy for a long time. The Governor happens to be from the part of the state where I served, and the Deputy Governor himself is my good friend and very reasonable human being. He is a person that people like. They are the type of people who are supposed to rule as Governor and Deputy Governor.

“Before they became Governor and Deputy Governors they have been helping a lot in Ondo State, not even only within their communities where they come from, they helped everybody within that area, and I witnessed. So, for Ondo to have these two they will not regret it.

“I’m happy as they reshuffled the cabinet immediately because if you want to rule , even in the military when you come up for example as a Brigade Commander, all the OCs you change them. If you are Brigade Commander, the OCs, the GOs you replace them, so that you can have a command of your own, otherwise it is not possible.

“People are shouting that the Governor reshuffled the cabinet, when President Buhari came into power why did he not continue with Jonathan’s cabinet? Why did President Tinubu not continue with Buhari’s cabinet? It is not possible, and also those people have stayed long. So, I think the way he reshuffled the cabinet is very good, it is beautiful and I’m happy with it, and that is how it is supposed to be done.

“And I wish him the best. Let him perform, he should not look at the people who fought when he was a deputy governor. Power is from the Almighty Allah, as God said he is going to be a Governor that is why has become a Governor.

“Am happy that today the House will screen the Deputy Governor, I know he is a clean somebody, he is a very good somebody, and dutiful, and the people will never regret having him as the deputy governor.

“For the Governor and Deputy Governor come 2027 their ticket is express, every body can go and buy form to contest for primary, I’m happy with our party now, I like the way they do it. I see even Ondo state they allow them to go direct primary, and that is the best option. That indirect primary is killing parties. Go for direct primary, you have population and you know what you have.

“I congratulate Ganduje for bringing the direct primary, and I wish we will apply it every where. This direct primary is the best way.”

In another development, Gololo has decried the decision of President Bola Tinubu to relocate certain key offices of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Federal Airport Authority of Nigerian (FAAN) to Lagos state.

The APC Chieftain who frowned at the development advised President Tinubu to reverse the decision and the dare consequences that will emanate from it.

He said, “I am not happy with it. Thank God people have spoken against it, despite the fact that some few persons from the South are saying that it is fine. Obasanjo did it during his time, he relocated Port Authority back to Lagos, Shippers Council back to Lagos, and NIMASA to Lagos, why? Are we not Nigerians? Abuja is it not Nigeria? Abuja is the seat of power.”

Gololo warned that if Mr. President continues with his decision to effect the relocation of the said agencies, it will have dire consequences.
