Gov Kefas Inaugurates Security, Electricity Committees

Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries Urged To Be Procurement Compliance

In a bid to ensure the security of security of lives and property, the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas has inaugurated a high power committee called; the “Taraba Security Solution Committee.”
A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Yusuf Sanda gave the name of the committee as Brigade Commander, 6 Brigade, Jalingo – Chairman, The Commissioner of Police – Member, Director State Security – Member, Commandant NSCDC- Member and Air Force Command Base, Gembu- Member. Others are Commandant NDLEA- Member, Commander-General, Taraba Marshal – Member, Reps House of Assembly – Member, Honourable Attorney General/Commissioner of Justice – Member, Comptroller, Nigeria Immigration Service – Member, Comptroller, Nigeria Correctional Service – Member, Comptroller, Nigeria Customs Service – Member and Reps Defense Intelligent Agency- Member while the Permanent Secretary (HASS)SGS Office to serve as Secretary
The Committee’s terms of reference include:
Study the Defence Industries of Corporation of Nigeria (DICON), Determine the type and quantity of weapons/equipment to be purchased by the state, considering the topography of the state and the Type of training the state needs from DICON.
The Committee has five (5) days to submit its report.
Similarly,  The Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas has approved the constitution of a Committee on the commencement of the process for establishment of Electricity Law for Taraba State.
Members of the Committee include:
The Deputy Governor – Chairman,The Commissioner of Justice -Member, The Commissioner of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning -Member, The Commissioner of Environment and Climate Change – Member and The Commissioner of Water Management and Aquatic Affairs – Member. Others are The Commissioner of Waste Management & Resource Innovation – Member, The Commissioner of Energy & Economic Development -Member
The Committee’s terms of reference include:
Oversee policy document, Review and ensure that the jurisdiction, powers and responsibilities of regulatory body is in line with relevant laws and roadmaps for the growth of Taraba State and to Ensure that the legal framework is transparent, accountable and that the decision-making process are in line with extant laws.
