Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Edet Otu, has congratulated the Chief of Defence Intelligence, Lieutenant General Emmanuel Akomaye Parker Undiandeye, on his elevation to the rank of Lieutenant General by the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, GCFR.
Governor Otu described the promotion as a well deserved honour and a recognition of an illustrious Cross River son whose professional excellence, courage, and patriotism continue to shape the Nigerian military.
In a statement issued in Calabar by his Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Linus Obogo, the Governor commended the senior officer for his consistent record of discipline, outstanding service, and visionary leadership.
“Lieutenant General Undiandeye remains a shining example of what unwavering commitment to national service can accomplish. His elevation is both a personal milestone and a celebration of Nigeria’s confidence in competence and merit,” Governor Otu said.
He noted that in his role as Chief of Defence Intelligence, General Undiandeye has brought exceptional intellect, courage, and strategic depth to national defence and security management. According to him, the General continues to demonstrate a rare blend of knowledge and bravery that reflects true leadership.
Governor Otu praised the officer’s loyalty, patriotism, and service to the nation. He stated that through courage in the field, wisdom in leadership, and an enduring belief in Nigeria’s future, General Undiandeye has earned the admiration of citizens and respect across the global defence community.
The Governor added that the promotion represents a new phase in the General’s dedicated pursuit of peace and security across the country.
Expressing pride on behalf of the people of Cross River State, Governor Otu described him as a worthy ambassador whose achievements reflect the resilient spirit of Cross River people. He noted that the General’s story will continue to inspire younger generations.
Governor Otu prayed for God’s continued guidance, strength, and wisdom for the newly promoted officer as he carries out his duties in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty. He expressed optimism that his leadership will contribute to a renewed era of peace, unity, and security in Nigeria.
