Jos, Plateau State – Governor Agbu Kefas attended the 2024 Nigerian Army Day Celebration, commemorating 161 years of the Nigerian Army’s service and dedication to national defense and peacekeeping.
The event, themed “Transforming the Nigerian Army: Imperative for Combating Contemporary Security Challenges within a Joint Environment,” highlights the Army’s commitment to addressing modern security challenges through collaboration.
Governor Kefas, with his military background, expressed his unwavering support for security, peaceful coexistence, and harmony. He joined notable figures, including Lt. Gen. TA Lagbaja, Chief of Army Staff, Defence Minister Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, and Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, to honor the brave men and women of the Nigerian Army.
“The Nigerian Army has consistently demonstrated its unwavering commitment to defending our nation and maintaining peace and security,” Governor Kefas said. “We appreciate their sacrifices and reiterate our support for their efforts in addressing contemporary security challenges.”
The celebration serves as a tribute to the Army’s dedication and service, reaffirming their vital role in maintaining national security and peace.
“The Nigerian Army remains a vital institution in our nation’s defense and security framework,” said Lt. Gen. Lagbaja. “We are committed to transforming and strengthening our capabilities to address emerging security challenges.”
The event showcased the Army’s capabilities and equipment, as well as cultural displays and performances.
