As part of the ongoing rollout, the state government has officially signed a contract with Moulds Construction Nigeria Limited for the 38-kilometre Wukari–Kente–Chinkai road project. The contract signing ceremony took place at the office of the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure Development, Hon. Hon. Luka explained that the project fits into the governor’s development agenda, which focuses on improving transportation, enhancing trade, and connecting rural communities. “This project is a clear demonstration of Governor Kefas’s commitment to keeping his word and ensuring that no part of Taraba is left behind in development,” he stated.

Visible Progress and Impact
Motorists using the Wukari–Chinkai route have already begun noticing improvements. A substantial portion of the road has been cleared, and travel time between Wukari and Kente has reduced from more than two hours to under one hour.
Farmers in the region have expressed joy that the improved road will make it easier to transport yams and other produce grown in large quantities. Commuters travelling to Abuja through the route have also noted that the smoother road has reduced stress and the frequency of vehicle breakdowns.
This progress marks a new stage in Governor Kefas’s infrastructure drive, demonstrating a strong commitment to rebuilding Taraba’s road network and fostering growth in rural areas.
