In his quest to raise professionalism, Governor Agbu Kefas has approved the establishment of works training school in the state.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Arch. Hadiza Bello Yero ddisclosed this during a two day capacity building worship organised by the Nigeria Institute of Building, Taraba State chapter, held at the Taraba State Polytechnic, Suntai, Jalingo campus.
“This is to impact the knowledge on the younger ones.
She urged partispants to have passion for the profession and be hardworking to make parents and families proud.
“You should be enthusiastic about the profession rather than more about money.
“The more you do, the more you know it, have the passion for it and money will come. People will look for you anywhere you are.
In his remarks, the Rector, Taraba State Polytechnic Suntai, Dr. Amos Danlami Agbu appreciated the organisers for holding the workshop in the polytechnic.
“Professionalism is what should be encouraged in every institution. This Profession has to do with lives, therefore the need for safety.
According to him, the building collapse is a challenge to the profession in Nigeria and the world at large.
He encouraged students to be hardworking and productive.
“You are in the right way by choosing this profession. Don’t be discouraged by the various stages before been certified as a professional builder despite it very stressful, but stand.
“You are representing the Polytechnic and your community.
“Shelter is one of the most important thing in life, no matter what you do, you need shelter.”
In his remarks, the State Chairman of Nigeria Institute of Building, Taraba State Chapter, Bld. Ayuba Ibrahim Abarshi pointed out that digitalization has made things easier and urged partispants to pay attention so as to get the best.
The workshop participants are students of the Polytechnic, Academia and professionals in the building profession.
The Theme for the workshop is: Digital challenges for professionals and none – professionals in built environment, harnessing the diversity for a safer and more secured built environment”.
