Governor of Taraba State, Dr Abgu Kefas, has said that his administration remains committed to prioritizing young people.
He stated this during the official flagged off a statewide youth database and profiling system, an initiative of the Taraba State Youth Development Agency aimed at strengthening youth focused policies and programmes.
The ceremony took place at the Exco Chamber of TY Danjuma House in Jalingo.
He pointed out that his administration remains committed to prioritizing young people, adding that future budgets will be deliberately structured to support youth development initiatives.
“The newly established database is a critical tool that will provide the state with accurate and reliable data needed to drive youth empowerment and development programmes.
“The database initiative forms part of broader efforts to reposition the youth for meaningful participation in the progress and growth of Taraba State – he said.
He called on young people across the state to support the initiative and cooperate with relevant authorities, urging them to abandon negative tendencies and embrace opportunities for growth.
In his response, the Chairman of Taraba State Youth Development Agency, Nongha Gara, described the database as an invaluable asset that will enhance the planning and implementation of youth empowerment programmes. He noted that the system will ensure government interventions are better targeted and more inclusive.
Officials said that with the introduction of the database, no young person in Taraba State will be left out of government interventions, as the system is designed to ensure inclusivity and effective service delivery.
During the event, Mariya Pantuvo demonstrated detailed of the newly developed website to the governor, highlighting its features and how it will be used to capture and manage youth data across Taraba state.
