Governor Ododo Commended, Urged to Fulfill Promises to Otutubatu Community

Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, has received an open letter from Isaiah Davies Ijele, The Prince of Otutubatu, expressing appreciation for the governor’s commitment to the safety and wellbeing of the community. Ijele acknowledged the progress made so far under Ododo’s leadership but urged him to do more to address the welfare of the people.

According to Ijele, Governor Ododo had personally promised to bring peace and return the people of Otutubatu back home, saying “My brother Ijele, I will make sure I bring Peace and return your people back home. What I saw there wasn’t a good one at all! If I didn’t go there myself, I wouldn’t have believed it’s that bad.” This promise was made when the governor reached out to Ijele a few months ago, expressing his desire for change.

Ijele emphasized that despite the progress, many people are still unable to return home due to the loss of their means of livelihood. He appealed to the governor to rebuild their homes and provide basic necessities like food and shelter. The people of Otutubatu are still struggling to recover from the challenges they faced, and Ijele believes that the governor’s intervention is crucial in restoring their livelihoods.

Ijele stated, “Our community is filled with hardworking men and women of valor, and all they need is an enabling environment to thrive.” He urged Governor Ododo to stay true to his commitment and rebuild Bagana-Otutubatu, allowing the people to return home and resume farming before the raining season. This, Ijele believes, will go a long way in restoring the dignity and livelihoods of the people.

The open letter serves as a call to action for Governor Ododo to prioritize the welfare of the people and fulfill his promises to the community. Ijele’s appeal is not just for the governor’s attention but also for the government to take concrete steps in addressing the challenges faced by the people of Otutubatu.

As Ijele aptly put it, “I wouldn’t play politics with their lives hence I am making this an open appreciation and demand to your good office.” This statement underscores the urgency and importance of the governor’s intervention in the lives of the people.

The people of Otutubatu are looking up to Governor Ododo to deliver on his promises and restore their livelihoods. As the governor continues to work towards fulfilling his campaign promises, it is essential that he prioritizes the welfare of the people and takes concrete steps in addressing their challenges.
