Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has launched the Governance Delivery Unit (GDU), an ambitious initiative designed to reform governance and drive sustainable development in Kogi State.
The GDU aims to enhance governance through strategic planning, performance monitoring, and evidence-based decision-making. Governor Ododo described the unit as a testament to his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and efficiency.
The initiative, supported by global consultancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC), is expected to transform the state’s governance landscape and align with Kogi State’s 32-year developmental agenda.
Stakeholders’ Meeting
The inauguration was followed by a high-level stakeholders’ meeting led by Mrs. Folashade Arike Ayoade, Secretary to the State Government. Attendees included top officials such as the Commissioner for Finance, Auditor-General, Chief Economic Adviser, and other senior aides.
Ambassador Olusiji Aina, Ph.D., Coordinator of the GDU, lauded the initiative, stating, “Posterity will indeed remember His Excellency for fostering a governance structure that will resonate through generations to come.”
The GDU will spearhead efforts to achieve sustainable development goals, urging stakeholders to collaborate in building a prosperous future for Kogi State.
Yahaya Shehu Ahmed, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Digital Media, emphasized the administration’s resolve to deliver excellence in governance.
