The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has introduced stringent new guidelines for international Hajj offices to prevent the misuse of the annual pilgrimage for political or sectarian purposes.

“We will not tolerate any attempts to disrupt the sanctity of Hajj or use it for political or sectarian agendas,” said a spokesperson for the ministry. “Our top priority is to ensure a safe and peaceful experience for all pilgrims.”
The new regulations require foreign Hajj offices to comply with specific requirements and conditions to be approved. Offices must enter pilgrims’ data into the electronic system before their arrival and prevent them from carrying political materials or engaging in disruptive activities.

“The ministry is committed to preventing the exploitation of Hajj for political or sectarian agendas,” the spokesperson emphasized. “We will take decisive action against any violations, including deportation of office heads or staff involved in breaches.”
The regulations also outline procedures for accrediting foreign Hajj offices, including requirements for submitting an accreditation request, ensuring office staff are well-qualified, and linking to the ministry’s electronic system.
“We want to ensure that all pilgrims have a seamless and spiritual experience,” said the spokesperson. “These regulations will help us achieve that goal.”
The accreditation period extends until the end of Muharram the following year, with offices responsible for their pilgrims until their return home.
